Methodology
Figures are compiled from the public agent rosters of Canada's 24 brokerages we track — Royal LePage, Century 21, RE/MAX, Right at Home and Sutton — deduplicated by email and refreshed every week or two. Every counted agent has a verified, deliverable email. "Own a website" counts agents on a custom personal domain rather than only a brokerage profile page, a social link or nothing — and is measured over the 31,365 agents at RE/MAX, Sutton, Right at Home, the networks whose directories publish a website field. Century 21 and Royal LePage directories don't publish one, so those agents are excluded from website figures rather than counted as having none; that keeps a gap in our own collection out of a statement about the industry. All other figures cover the 72,295 agents present at the most recent scan (2026-08-27) — not every agent ever recorded. The database itself holds 77,470 verified emails including agents seen only in earlier scans, but a statistic about who works where has to be answered from the live roster, or a network whose directory returns a rotating subset inflates its own share. The Brokerage Index is pinned to the same scan, so the two pages always agree. National REALTOR® membership (~160,000) is per CREA, 2026.
